Julian Bray appointed new Chair of Park Farm Neighbourhood Watch

Dear Members and Friends of Park Farm NW.
It's not easy taking on what has been one of the most effective and outward looking Neighbourhood Watch schemes in the country.

Christopher Harper has to be congratulated for all the hard work and relentless determination he has put into the scheme and I for one have been very happy in a smaller way to support him. Running a scheme such as this one is time consuming, sometimes frustrating and costs money, but as I am at home most of the time and have roots in the communications industry this seemed to be a natural fit.

Chris has political ambitions and so in time, he would in any case have to stand down, but still remain an active and valuable supporter.

There will over time, be a few subtle changes, building on what Chris has created and what you the members and friends of Park Farm NW feel is appropriate.

I intend to get the media, press, radio and television to work with us along with Twitter, Facebook and other elements of social media to ensure that your concerns are addressed, acted upon and the community feels empowered to work together, creating a suitable environment for young, old and increasingly the very old!  Councillors and MP's won't escape either and will be held to account.

It is due to the efforts of the membership and Chris in particular that anti-social behaviour is at a lower level, mini-motos are being confiscated and crushed on a regular basis (there are still a few out there!) making the Green Wheel safer for toddlers and parents enjoying the unique riverside walk and grassland areas we still have.

So feel free to get in touch and as the late Shaw Taylor on early commercial televsions'  Police Five used to say " "Keep 'em peeled!"  We certainly will!
All the best

Julian Bray
