From about 9am this morning (Friday 25th March 20110), residents of Park Farm heard a series of very loud explosions, so much so, that several residents from houses facing the River and Green Wheel, were out on their doorsteps.
The shots seemed to have been fired from a shotgun being discharged just the other side of the river on the stretch known as Middle Level and the land known as Drysides at Horsey Toll/farm. Normally when shoots are organised on this stretch of land, they are well away from residential areas to the railway side of the land.
Update: All credit to Police who after negotiating difficult access to site quickly attended, but the shooter had already decamped. However if (s)he returns, or you have any information, the incident reference number is 106/25. Alternatively you may wish to leave information anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, who will never ask for your name or trace your call.
Update 2: Residents report further police activity (Friday pm) in and around Stanground Wood, officers and police dogs employed.
