A detailed Crimestoppers lead formed part of an intelligence package which lead to a warrant on a house in East Cambs. A quantity of crack cocaine was found and an individual received a significant prison sentence for possession with intent to supply
A Crimestoppers lead gave detailed information concerning cannabis being grown at a private address located in the centre of the county. During a subsequent warrant 150 cannabis plants together with a quantity of white powder were recovered and the occupant was later convicted of 2 drug offences
Together with the impressive number of detections May has also been notable for officers using Online 2Way for the first time. This facility allows the police to ask further questions of the source of some Crimestoppers leads. Officers used this facility when preparing for a drugs warrant and researching a Firearms Risk Assessment
It was also good to get 5 new appeals on the Most Wanted site for suspects wanted for offences such as fraud and robbery. This facility allows for descriptions and images of those offending in our county to be circulated nationally via the Crimestoppers website. We have already had a response to one of this month's new appeals and this has been passed to the investigating officer for follow up.
