Game On!...... |
Individual iPHONE mobile numbers can be obtained from the PCC website, residents can now e-mail their local councillor directly and should expect a fairly quick if not immediate response (?!) There are some exceptions to the list and indeed some councillors have refused to take up the iPHONE option.
We'll keep an eye on the rising costs of this exercise and the value our local councillors (marked ###) will provide in terms of increased access and communication direct with residents.

The joke is that some local councillors believe that by having an iPhone, they will handle much less paper from the PCC. The reality is that most councillors will either just skim read the first few pages on the tiny screen before getting bored, then repeatedly press the delete button.
ReplyDeleteIt is also much harder to write margin notes on a small screen iPAD with the council meeting in full swing. The other point being that many of the councillors won't bother to have ICT training to find out how to use the gizmo in the first place. It won't magically improve the physical attendance record of some seemingly part time councillors (but trousering full time expenses and allowances) and if anything will greatly show up gaps in their knowledge of current issues as they won't have the initial links embedded in the memory!
