So just how bad is the current Flu outbreak? Some 50 people in the UK have died so far but at this time of the year Undertakers are always busy. So to put it all in perspective here is is a link to a spreadsheet (5 x A4 pages) giving the most recent facts and figures for the whole of the UK. Peterborough is half way up the scale. https://spreadsheets0.google.com/ccc?key=t6p7PyLGuIzLj_MyRcZ_hJQ#gid=0
Children going back to school will see the figures rise, but that is to be expected. If you have yet to get a flu jab, please don't delay. The latest advice is that all sections of the community should now have the jab. No exceptions.
At home, advanced sanitation and hygiene regimes should be introduced. All surfaces should be treated as contaminated. IF you are not doing so already, obsessional repeated handwashing with soap and hot water for at least 35 seconds. The objective being to stop contaminated fingers from touching or holding food and for those fingers to then come in contact with the mouth!
It really is as simple as that!
