Appeal ~ Lincs Police

Our colleagues in the Lincolnshire Police Force would like your help in attempting to solve a murder that occurred back in October 2009, in the small village of Lound, which is situated near Bourne, in Lincolnshire.

At around lunchtime on Saturday October 24th 2009, the body of 50yr old Alan WOOD was found in his home address. Alan had been restrained and subjected to a vicious attack involving a bladed instrument.

Alan had last been seen alive at about 7.20pm on the evening of Wednesday October 21st 2009, with no further sightings of him until his body was discovered.

Enquiries revealed that someone had used Alan’s credit/debit cards at various localities in Bourne, on the evening of Thursday October 22nd 2009, and at a location in Stamford on the following 23rd/24th and 25th October.

CCTV images are available of the person we wish to identify/ locate and can be seen at the below link.

Lincolnshire Police have the DNA of the possible offender from the scene of the crime, but the details of the DNA holder are not contained on the National DNA Database.

Various media appeals, including BBC Crimewatch have failed to put a name to the DNA.

Your help is required by circulating the information contained in the below link to as many members of your respective communities as possible, in an attempt to identify the person responsible for the murder and the person shown on the CCTV.

There is a substantial reward of £60,000, offered by Sainsbury’s and Crime stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the offender. The Police simply require the correct name of the offender to go with the DNA.

Any assistance that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
