Police executing five warrants in and around Peterborough arrest four in dawn drugs raids...

Follow Superintendent Paul Fullwood on twitter @cambscops

FOUR people have been arrested in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire this morning (Thursday September 8) as part of a major co-ordinated police crackdown on class A drug dealing.   Officers in dawn raids executed five warrants at properties across the city and a property in Eye, under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The four men have all been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and are currently being taken into custody. The operation is part of ongoing work to tackle drug supply in the city and other parts of the county.

Superintendent Paul Fullwood said: "Today's raids are part of ongoing work to tackle the supplying of drugs in Peterborough.

"Drug dealing has a significant impact on people's lives, causing intimidation and misery for residents living in affected areas.

"This kind of activity will not be tolerated and we will continue to invest time and resources to ensure those linked to drugs supply are caught and dealt with appropriately.

"I would urge anyone who suspects drug dealing in their community to contact either the police or Crimestoppers, anonymously."
