We don't normally carry product warnings but this one is very important. Since July last year there have been over twenty fires in the London area alone; caused by a BEKO fridge unit defroster switch shorting out due to moisture ingress and causing the surrounding plastic materials to catch fire.
Unfortunately this has now caused a fatality in an apartment fire also in London. BEKO have today released a freephone contact number 0800 0094837 and anyone with a BEKO appliance manufactured between 2000 and 2006 are strongly advised to call the freephone or visit the website http://www.beko.co.uk/ ,the replacement part supplied and the repair will be carried out FREE OF CHARGE.
