Review of Electoral Polling Arrangements being carried out. All residents views most welcome
Local Community activist Chris York reports that Peterborough City Council are seeking the views of local residents as to whether the current location of polling stations and the facilities available at polling stations meet their needs.
The aim of the consultation is to give consideration to issues raised by residents about current arrangements and facilities and to provide an opportunity for local residents to make alternative suggestions.
PCC are consulting with Stakeholders e.g. Returning Officers (other Councils), Elected Members, Parish Councillors, Disability Groups and Political Party Agents.
The results will be used to ensure all Polling Stations are fit for purpose and accessible to disabled users. This is a statutory exercise and PCC are required to undertake a full review every four years. All Polling Stations will be visited as part of the review.
A report, which details the results of the review and any proposed changes, will be presented to full Council in December 2011.
Consultation period ends on 14th September 2011.
