Fresh appeal on missing mum's 30th birthday 15/09/2011 11:21:09
Vitalija Baliutaviciene has not been seen since leaving her home in Burmer Road, New England, at 5.10am on Friday, August 12.
Detectives made a fresh plea for information today (Thursday) - her 30th birthday.
Detective Inspector Martin Brunning said: "Today is Vitalija's 30th birthday, which is a milestone in her life.
"It is a day her friends and family were looking forward to celebrating, but are instead still anxious to know where she is."
The mother-of one was last seen wearing light blue three-quarter length jeans, a blue denim jacket and light plimsoll trainers. It is believed she was carrying an umbrella and a distinctive brightly coloured bag with a butterfly pattern.
Police are still keen to trace the movements of an apple green Mercedes Vito van, registration ANU 666, between 5am and 10am on Friday, August 12. A van has been seized by police and is currently undergoing forensic tests.
DI Brunning said: "I would urge people to think back to that day almost five weeks ago. Can you remember seeing Vitalija, or this very distinctive van in or around the Peterborough area during that morning?
"Vitalija's family and friends are desperate to find out what has happened to her.
"Any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could prove vital in finding her."
Officers have been putting up appeal posters in both English and Lithuanian around the area she went missing and in villages on the outskirts of the city.
Searches have been completed at Holme woods, house-to-house enquiries continue in villages in the area.
